Our History

L& M Bakery was originally built in 1928 as Sunoco station. Later on, it would be known as Delran Ford. In 1964, Carole and Richard Kahl Sr. purchased the business from a father and son-in-law duo named Loschiavo and McCain. This pairing was the inspiration for the L&M name. Inspired by this strong family bond, The L&M name has remained for many decades. Carole and Richard Sr. ran the business successfully together until her passing in 1988.

Upon Richard Sr.’s retirement in 1998, Richard Jr. and his brother John assumed control of L&M Bakery. They ran it together until Richard Jr’s passing in 2015. The business is now run by John and his wife, Carol. L&M continues to be a family-run business with John and Carol’s 3 children; Katie, Kristie, and Kevin. Despite retiring in 1998, Richard Sr. is still an active part of the bakery, lending his expertise whenever he is present.

Connect With Us

In keeping with family tradition and reliable service, we still use the same quality ingredients and recipes that Richard Kahl Sr. brought to the business and developed in 1964. In this day and age of corporations, we are proud to still be a family owned and operated business.

In our 58 years of business, we have had some familiar faces working in the front end and in the back shop working for us. Some of these wonderful employees have been with us for longer than 20 years.
